Positive Visualisation & Meditation

Every thought counts
Every thought and emotion you experience sends a corresponding chemical reaction through your body via your nervous system.  Positive, expansive thoughts make you feel good because they release pleasurable chemicals and restore balance to your body.  Thoughts with their origins in negative emotions such as fear, danger or believing things to be 'out of control' switch on the body's automatic stress response, which if left unchecked causes many harmful physical and emotional symptoms.

Tell yourself this is real

Before learning to control your mind/body connection, it's important to simply discover and affirm it exists.  Our exercises help you to do exactly that.  In order to make progress with the mind/body connection, it is vital that you believe it is REAL.  The only way to believe it is real is to observe it functioning and decide for yourself.  This is the essence of meditation, or increasing your ability to concentrate on the present moment.

Meditation is the key
When many people hear the word meditation, they think of a Buddhist monk sitting quietly in a lotus position.  Yet all meditation really means is to let go of your worries about the past or future and observe what is going on right now!  This can take many forms; singing, jogging, dancing, weight lifting, walking, sitting still.  You name it and it can become meditation.  The key is not the activity or lack of it, but your awareness of the moment.  Try turning something you enjoy into meditation.  Quietly observe everything about each moment; mind, body, thoughs, movement, breath, sounds, these are all forms of energy.  When you are fully tuned inwards and observing energy flowing from one moment to the next you'll become aware of subtle patterns and rhythms.  It's useful to find an approach that you enjoy and use it regularly to clear your mind of unnecessary clutter.

Through this site and our downloadable guides we will share with you a series of simple physical and mental activities that allow you to meditate while you are performing them, thereby strengthening your connection to yourself and raising your energy levels.  The fact that they also relieve physical symptoms of stress is a by-product of a more powerful and positive effect, control of your personal energy.

Control of your personal energy
If you want more control of your personal energy, you need to start thinking about energy more often.  Modern science now affirms ancient yoga philosophy telling us all matter is energy.  Every part of you, each cell and fibre, is part of an ongoing matrix of creating, storing and releasing energy.  You are part of the same vast network of complex energy patterns as everything else around you.  Whether you know anything about biochemistry or quantum physics doesn't matter too much, the same processes will be going on inside your body continuously as long as you are alive.  Everyting you observe with your mind or body is energy in a state of constant change.  Even thoughts are energy, although they exist at such a subtle level that our rational mind finds it hard to label them as such - but they leave a trail of evidence by the way they alter our neurochemistry and our relationships with those around us.  Once you begin to observe everything around you and within you as energy you are halfway to controlling your energy.  The rest is done through practice and becoming more conscious of energy in each moment.
